logo50th_300Community Living Temiskaming South provides services and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families, throughout South Temiskaming. Founded in 1959 by a group of parents concerned with the lack of services available locally, the Association's first endeavor was to establish a school for their children. Since the start of the school, the Association has never looked back.


1965 The start of a workshop program for adults

1969 The first Walkathon to raise funds to build a workshop

1971 ARC Industries opens in Haileybury

1974 Increased funding from the Ontario Government

1977 ARC doubles its size, enrollment, staff

1979 Supervised Apartment Program begins, now "Supported Living"

1983 The Association purchases a residence Building (Georgina Ave, Residence)

1984 The association purchases the Little Street Apartment Building

1985 Supported Independent Living expands

1985 Addition of 4000sq. ft. to Workshop

1986 The Community Living Skills Program was established with the Association

1988 Client Services Department established

1989 Resource Teachers Program begins

1989 Morissette Drive Residence opens

1989 Enhanced Supported Independent Living Program receives permanent funding

1990 Amwell St. Building donated by N. Morissette Canada Inc.

1990 Supported Employment Program begins

1991 Life Skills Day Program implemented

1991 Silver Street Residence established

1992 Amwell St.Building renovated and ARC Industries transfers over

1993 Former ARC building renovated to house the Life Skills Centre

1994 Respite Care Program begins

1999 Lorrain Valley Residence is established

2001 Respite Apartment established

2006 Foundations Program established
